Emily has a new interview with C California Magazine as part of her cover issue, and in the interview, she talks about filming an action film with Tom Cruise and overcoming a childhood stutter.

When talking about difficulties she faced as a child, Blunt said, “I had a really bad stutter as a kid, and the thing that got me out of it was to imagine I was someone else—to take on a new identity via silly voice or by mimicking. It was the only way I could speak fluently. Kids found it funny, and I can understand. There’s a frankness to the way they say, 'What’s wrong with you? Why can’t you just say it?'"
Blunt also spoke about getting bruises and ‘losing indie credibility’ while shooting ‘All You Need Is Kill’ with Tom Cruise, saying, “Tom [Cruise] was in today, and when he saw I had a bruise the size of an apple, he said, ‘Yeah Blunt! That’s what an action movie’s all about!’ He thinks it’s fun that I’m losing my indie credibility. I hurt like hell!”

It was recently announced that Blunt was also one of the frontrunners to play the female lead in Wally Pfister’s ‘Transcendence’ with Johnny Depp as the lead. However, sources have said that her filming schedule for ‘All You Need Is Kill’ may interfere with the starting date for ‘Transcendence’, which is rumored to be the first week of March.
