Sexism and feminism has become a very big talking point in the entertainment industry in recent years and it seems that there are some stars who feel that the lines are beginning to get a bit blurred as to what can and cannot be classed as feminism. Just ask American supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, as she has had plenty to say on the subject in the past and is still speaking out on the subject.

There are some people who feel that Emily Ratajkowski is not doing anything to help feminism, by constantly taking her clothes off and showing off her incredible body, even suggesting that her sexiness does more harm than good. However, Emily has now hit back at these claims, insisting that it is possible for a woman to be sexy and intelligent and that she is trying to show that it is fine to show off both sides.
Ratajkowski explained, "It's sexism, basically. I think there's a valid argument behind the idea that sexiness is patriarchal, and that's problematic. But that being said, it can be really limiting to young women who feel like that's their self-expression; someone telling them that they can't do that is suppressing. It's not taking people seriously because of how they present themselves, which women get a lot more than men. People try to put women in boxes and stereotype them as one thing."

She added, "There's a need, even as a woman, to become a certain 'type' of girl. But I feel extremely multifaceted. One moment I can be super-silly with my friends, and the next minute I feel like the sexiest woman in the world. And that to me doesn't change what my core ideals are, or what I have to say. Just because someone can be sexual doesn't mean they can't be serious."
It will be interesting to see what some of the other feminist stars out there have to say about these comments, as we have no doubt that there are plenty who disagree with Emily Ratajkowski.
