Emma Stone was recently at the Berlin Film Festival with Nicholas Cage to promote her latest animated film, ‘The Croods’. The film is set in the Stone Ages, and Stone voices the protagonist, a young girl named Eep who learns to forge her own path.

Stone speaks about the film in an interview, calling it ‘incredibly emotional’ and explaining the metaphor to our own families where children eventually break out and forge their own paths in life.
Stone also explains that the character coincidentally ended up looking like her, even though that wasn’t the initial plan. She says, “She [Eep] wasn’t originally a redhead. She originally had brown eyes and dark hair and then they ended up changing her, and I was like ‘Ohmygod’ when I saw the animation. She had red hair and green eyes, which was so wonderful. I thought it was fantastic and it really makes her standout.” Stone also adds, “I’d like to die my hair red. I’m not a redhead naturally, but you know I’m a great supporter. I love the red. Blonde is the easiest because it keeps growing out this way, but if it weren’t for Spider-Man, I’m sure I would still be red.”

Stone is a natural blonde, but she previously described being asked to go red for Judd Apatow’s ‘Superbad’ and never going back. Since she plays Gwen Stacy in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and they are currently filming the sequel, she’s likely to be blonde for a few more months before we see any change in her hair color.
