Emma Watson has been busy juggling the promotional duties for 'The Bling Ring' and 'This Is The End', both of whom come out days within each other. The premiere of 'This Is The End' was held the other day, and Emma spoke about the reasons she chose to do the film, which is very far outside of her usual roles.
The idea of celebrities playing themselves in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles where several people are all trapped in James Franco's house after a party is absurd and hilarious, and Watson agrees. She explains, "I just thought it was the most absurd, weird, crazy idea. I remember my agent trying to explain it over the phone to me, and me just being like 'I can't... why me? Why me?' And also, just like, 'this is so bizarre.'"
She adds, "When I read the script, I just found it hilarious, and I was like 'of course I will do this - this will be hysterical.'" She adds that being around a group of comedians that talented was a great opportunity for her, and it certainly seems to have paid off. 'This Is The End' is getting very strong reviews, and early predictions for the movie have it doing very well at the box office, despite going up against 'Man of Steel'.
'This Is The End', in addition to starring Emma Watson, also stars James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Mindy Kaling, Aziz Ansari, Rihanna, and Michael Cera, among many others.
