The career of English actress Emma Watson has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with the actress proving that there is more to her talents than just being Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies. As well as proving her acting talents in other impressive movie projects, Emma has also recently become one of the newest U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassadors.
One of the first issues of business that Emma Watson has found herself involved in, is defending women from the recent sexist comments made by a Turkish politician. Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc has made some rather outrageous claims about women, which has caused outrage around the world, with millions of women now fighting back.
He states, "A woman should be chaste. She should know the difference between public and private. She should not laugh in public. Where are our girls, who slightly blush, lower their heads and turn their eyes away when we look at their face, becoming the symbol of chastity?"
Millions of women around the world have now decided to respond to these sexist comments and Emma Watson has decided to join them. Emma took to her official Twitter account to post a picture of herself laughing in public and tagged the image with ".@UN_Women @phumzileunwomen @e_nyamayaro".
What do you think about Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc's comments?
As far as her acting career is concerned, Emma Watson can next be seen on the big screen in the movie Regression, which is set to hit the big screen on August 28, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
