Emma Watson is best known as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, but after Perks of Being a Wallflower, she may be ready to show everyone that her acting range may be more than just playing a plucky witch. Watson is getting strong reviews, both for her performance and her American accent, as Sam in the new film 'Perks of Being a Wallflower'.
When asked about shooting Perks, Watson said "It was way out of my comfort zone, doing the crazy dancing and the Rocky Horror stuff. This movie has helped me shake off a lot of the fear and restrictions I put on myself. I'm slowly breaking down the barriers. Slowly, I'm giving myself permission to be an actress and not worrying so much what people think about it."

She also compares the character of Sam to herself, saying "The same way that Sam is quite hard on herself, I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Finding a way to like my imperfections and accept that I'm a human being and doing my best and finding a way to love myself and respect myself that was something that really spoke to me. I had a tough adolescence in my own way, and my friends got me through it. I can relate to the special people who get you through hard times."
She will follow up Perks with Sofia Coppola's 'Bling Ring', and then play Russell Crowe's daughter in Darren Aronofsky directed 'Noah'. Perks of Being a Wallflower is in limited release on September 14th, and will release wide on September 21st.
Watson has also discussed rumors about 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and in a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest, she addressed the rumors by saying she would be a 'lot more interested' in playing the role of Anastasia Steele if Ryan Gosling was going to be playing Christian Grey.
