British actress Emma Watson has become a household name, a multi-millionaire and a huge Hollywood star, all thanks to the success of the movie franchise Harry Potter, which saw Emma in the role of Hermoine Granger. Emma played the role in all of the Harry Potter movies, so she certainly knows a thing or two about appearing in a movie based on a book.
That could stand her in good stead for her latest movie project The Queen of the Tearling, which is being adapted from the Erika Johansen novels. Emma Watson has signed up to star in and produce The Queen of the Tearling movies, which will be based on the trilogy of novels that have been released over the years.
Emma says that she initially wanted to hate the books as she did not want to get caught up in another movie franchise but she ended up falling in love with The Queen of Tearling. Watson told the New York Post, "Unfortunately, I didn’t sleep for about a week because I couldn’t put the bloody thing down. It would be fair to say I became obsessed with the role and the book. Now I am executive-producing it."
It will be interesting to see what sort of preparation Emma Watson does for the role, as she has been cast as the character Princess Kelsea, who is described in the books as being "plain, insecure and fat". Will we see Emma Watson pile on the pounds for the role or will she rely on help? We will just have to wait and see.
