Hitch actress Eva Mendes has revealed how she is eager to work with British director Mike Leigh (Vera Drake). Eva says that she sent him a letter about eight years ago, telling him how she can do a good London accent and was desperate to work with him. However, Mike has yet to be in touch with Eva.
Mendes was talking to the British publication The Guardian, when she explained, "If you see Mike Leigh, tell him Mendes really wants him. And I do a good cockney (London accent)... I sent him a note maybe like eight years ago, and I'm sure he had no idea who I was."
She added, "And then I ran into him and he was lovely. So I just hope these last eight years I've maybe done something that he's liked or could see potential in, so we could possibly work together."
Eva Mendes is next set to appear on the big screen in the movie The Place Beyond the Pines, which sees her starring alongside her real life boyfriend Ryan Gosling. The Place Beyond the Pines is out now on limited release in the US and is set to open in the UK on April 11.
