There has been a lot of bad news in the build up to the upcoming Sochi Games, with the tragic news of Michael Schumacher being involved in a skiing accident, as well as a number of Winter Olympic stars having to pull out due to injuries. The latest star, who has had to pull out of the Sochi Games, is ski star Lindsey Vonn who damaged her knee.
Lindsey recently revealed how devastated she was at the fact that she would not be able to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics and she has been receiving support from fellow stars. The latest person to offer words of support to Lindsey Vonn is American figure skating champion Evan Lysacek, who has also had to pull out the games with a hip injury.
Lysacek was chatting to Today.com, when he told them, "I’m just disappointed for my friend, and I know what she’s going through. I know what she’s put into getting back and healthy and know what this meant to her. That’s why my heart is broken for her today."
It has been an unfortunate turn of events for Lindsey Vonn, who returned to action in December, following a previous injury, before then going on to sprain another major ligament while competing in France, which has ruled her out of the Sochi Games. While Lindsey Vonn will not be competing next month, she will definitely be cheering on her US team mates.
