It seems that there could be a battle of the Marvel superhero movies coming up, as two films in production are planning to use the same character. Just last week, The Avengers 2 writer and director Joss Whedon announced that he had written Quicksilver into the script for the new movie.
Now, it seems that Quicksilver will first appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past, after Bryan Singer confirmed that Evan Peters will play the character. Bryan took to his official Twitter account to say, "Before he was an #Avenger, he was just a REALLY fast kid. Thrilled to say #EvanPeters is joining #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as #Quicksilver."
For those of you who are not down with your Marvel superheroes, Quicksilver is the son of Magneto and the twin brother of Scarlet Witch. Joss Whedon had planned on introducing both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in The Avengers 2 but Bryan Singer has beaten him to the punch.
With X-Men: Days of Future Past coming out on July 18, 2014 and The Avengers 2 not reaching us until May 1, 2015, it will be interesting to see whether Joss Whedon and his team decide to scrap Quicksilver or whether they stand tall and continue with the plans.
