When it was announced back in 2006 that we were finally going to get an Ant-Man movie made, nobody would have dreamed that it would have taken this long for the film to finally get off the ground. Ant-Man has been full of issues over the years, with director Edgar Wright having creative differences with Marvel, so leaving the project and being replaced by Peyton Reed. Following that, there have been a number of actors exiting the Ant-Man cast, while the script has been written and re-written on a number of occasions.
Fortunately though, the Ant-Man project has finally managed to find its feet and, with the final Ant-Man script now winning the approval of Marvel, the movie is finally beginning to move forward. It has now been confirmed that the cast and crew of Ant-Man, which sees Paul Rudd in the lead role, with Evangeline Lilly playing the female lead, are now on set and good to go, as filming for Ant-Man has begun.
Ant-Man director Peyton Reed took to his official Twitter account to tell his fans and followers that the film is now shooting, "Alright, gang. Today is the day. LET'S. GET. small. #AntMan," he tweeted.
As well as starring Evangeline Lilly and Paul Rudd, the rest of the Ant-Man cast includes the likes of Corey Stoll, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, and David Dastmalchian, among others. With filming now underway, we can look forward to the Ant-Man movie finally being released, with a date set for July 17, 2015 in both the US and the UK.
