There was once a time when it looked like Evangeline Lilly had decided to call time on her acting career but, fortunately for us all, Peter Jackson managed to talk her round for his The Hobbit trilogy. Now, we get to see Evangeline working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although the actress herself has admitted that she was not sure about starring in a superhero movie.

Lilly explained, "The only Marvel film I’d seen at that time was Iron Man, and I didn’t even know it was a Marvel film. So I was like, I don’t want to do a stupid superhero movie." Fortunately though, the actress was won over, "And Paul Rudd, which makes it even cooler. Who casts Paul Rudd as a superhero? Nobody. So I was like, I gotta check out these Marvel guys and see what they’re up to, and apparently, they were up to really cool shit," she added.
While Evangeline Lilly has loved everything she has done with Marvel so far and is looking forward to getting to wear the Wasp costume for the Ant-Man sequel, she has admitted that not all superhero franchises are getting it right. Evangeline had a little bit of a dig at rivals DC, suggesting that they were getting it all wrong and could learn a lot from the Marvel guys.

We cannot wait to see Evangeline Lilly wearing that Wasp costume in Ant-Man and The Wasp, but we still have quite some time to wait, as the new Marvel movie not even set to begin shooting until July this year, with the aim of releasing the movie on June 29, 2018 in the UK, and on July 6, 2018 in the US.
