Ewan McGregor is set to appear on the big screen in the movie The Impossible, which has been described by some as a disaster movie. However, Ewan has said that he does not agree with that connection, as The Impossible is more of a story of true events and the disaster aspect is just one element of the film.
While promoting The Impossible, McGregor sat down with Digital Spy, where he explained, “I didn't ever think of it as being a disaster movie. I get really nervous when I hear people say that.”
He added, “I think we all approached it as being a true story, and our job was to be as accurate and truthful as possible about their story, but by telling their story we knew we were telling everybody's story who was there.”
The Impossible centres around the Tsunami that hit Thailand back in 2004 and the affect it had on those involved. Ewan McGregor stars alongside Naomi Watts in The Impossible, which is directed by Juan Antonio Bayona and is set to be released in the US on December 21 and then in the UK on January 1, 2013.
