Trainspotting is considered to be one of Danny Boyle’s best films, and it is also considered to be the film that launched Ewan McGregor into critical acclaim and Hollywood stardom. However, even after Irvine Welsh wrote the sequel, ‘Porno’, Ewan seemed unwilling to do it. While other cast members from Trainspotting seemed excited to be back for the sequel, should it get made, Ewan was not as enthusiastic.

However, Ewan recently said that he was never against doing the sequel and would still be open to it, saying, “I’ve always been waiting to read it and I never got sent it to read. I know in the past I always said I wouldn’t do anything that would damage the reputation of the movie Trainspotting because I wouldn’t want to do a poor sequel, but at the same time, I would always read it if I was sent it. I was never in the position where they’ve asked me to do it.”
Ewan is currently promoting his new film ‘The Impossible’, which is a true story about a family’s survival in the aftermath of the devastating 2004 Boxing Day tsunami in Thailand.
