The movie making industry often sees stars from other parts of the entertainment industry trying to make it in Hollywood, whether it be musician's, dancers or models. One such model who has turned her hand to acting is British beauty Keeley Hazell, who has been working hard in Hollywood for four years or so. Keeley says that she would love to one day work with the likes of Meryl Streep and Harmony Korine and was kind enough to take a few minutes to talk to us about her acting career.
FS. You have already appeared in a number of movies, which role has been your favourite to date?
KH: My favourite role to date would probably have to be “Peckham Princess” in ST GEORGES DAY. The part was character driven and fun. It also gave me the opportunity to show that I’m serious about acting.
FS. What made you decide to chase your acting dream?
KH: There were a few deciding factors but the main one is that I’m a firm believer in following your heart and pursing what is it you’re passionate about. Life is too short to not give it ago, and I never want to be one of those people who end up saying “what if?”
FS. Do you spend more time in the US than the UK these days?
KH: I currently live in the US but visit the UK regularly.
FS. Do you have any upcoming projects in the pipeline?
KH: I’m working on a mini web‐series that I created and co‐wrote. We’re in the early stages of production at the moment, but it’s essentially a comedy following the life of a twenty‐something year old girl trying to start her own business and navigate herself through the trials and tribulations of life in LA. It was inspired by my own personal experiences in Los Angeles.
FS. Do you have a dream role?
KH: For some reason I’m always drawn to Glenn Close’s character in Fatal Attraction.
FS. Who is the most talented actor or actress you have worked with?
KH: Anton Yelchin. I only worked with him for one scene in LIKE CRAZY but he’s an extremely talented young actor.
FS. Who is the best director you have worked with?
KH: Drake Doremus. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him twice and he’s just amazing.
FS. Now for a bit of insight, what is your favourite colour?
FS. If the world was to end tomorrow, what would you do today?
KH: Rob a bank for the hell of it. Then eat as much food as possible and consume vast amounts of alcohol with my favourite people.
FS. If you were stuck on a desert island, what 3 things would you need with you?
KH: A kindle. One of those knife compact thingy’s as I think that would come in handy and sun lotion.
FS. If you could be any flavour biscuit, what would it be?
KH: I would be a double‐chocolate digestive.
FS. If you could meet anybody living or dead, who would it be and why?
KH: Steve Jobs. I’m in awe of his mental capacity and ability to create the impossible. I find what he achieved during this life to be such an inspiration.
Keeley Hazell also went on to talk about the best advice that she has ever been given by anyone, saying, “Just try it. What’s the worst that can happen?” adding that her best advice that she could possibly give to anyone is "Life’s too short, jump off into the deep end and pray you can swim." Remember the name Keeley Hazell, as she is certainly an actress on the rise.
