There has been a lot of talk about the DC movie universe and the DC television universe, with different actors playing the same character on either the big screen or the small screen. Fans have become used to seeing actor Grant Gustin in the role of Barry Allen aka The Flash in the hit The CW television series, but we are soon going to see Ezra Miller playing the role on the big screen.
Since it was announced that Ezra Miller would be playing Barry Allen aka The Flash in the DC movie universe, many fans have criticised the decision, wanting Grant Gustin to do both. While Grant has appreciated the support from his fans, some of them have taken things a bit too far, which has led to Gustin sharing a message on his official Twitter account, asking his fans to play nice.
The message read, "I fully support Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and the Flash on the feature side of DC. I've never met the guy, but I think he is a fantastic and interesting actor. Would I have liked playing Barry Allen in a film? Sure. I love this character and it has changed my life and making movies and TV is something I hope to be fortunate enough to do for the rest of my life."
It continued, "I 'liked' some tweets from fans who expressed their support of me and said they would've enjoyed seeing me in the movie. Nothing of anyone 'bashing' Ezra. I don't condone that kind of behavior (specially on the internet) and I definitely don't partake. I can't wait to see all of the DC movies that are slated for the upcoming years. I am a fan and it will be awesome."
Grant Gustin continues in the role of Barry Allen aka The Flash in the hit televison series The Flash, which continues to air on The CW on Tuesdays. Meanwhile, Ezra Miller is expected to have a cameo appearance as The Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while he will also appear in both parts of The Justice League movie, as well as having the standalone The Flash film.
Do you think Ezra Miller will be able to win over the fans as Barry Allen aka The Flash?
