'The Expendables' and 'The Expendables 2' are prime examples of testosterone packed action movies, with famed action male action stars of all ages coming together to create a must-see event for action fans. Now, Variety is reporting that a female version of the Expendables is being developed, and that big name actresses are in talks for roles.

Variety is reporting that just as "The Expendables 2" explodes into theaters, Adi Shankar's banner 1984 Private Defense Contractors has tapped Dutch Southern to write an all-female riff on the star-studded action franchise.
Shankar ("The Grey") will produce for 1984 Private Defense Contractors, which plans to fully finance the "Expendables"-inspired project. Company is already in talks with several prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre.

2012 has been a banner year for female-driven actioners like "The Hunger Games," "Snow White and the Huntsman" and the Gina Carano-toplined "Haywire."
Who would some of the potential stars for this kind of movie be? Linda Hamilton and Sigourney Weaver are two excellent choices, if they could be convinced to do it. Others are Gina Carano, who headlined 'Haywire', and Milla Jovovich and Kate Beckinsale, who are excellent female action heroes.
Would you go see this movie, and who would you like to see in it?
