We have been doing a search to discover exactly who it is that fans want to play Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. So far, we have seen Henry Cavill out do Chace Crawford, while fans much prefer Matt Bomer to Ed Westwick. Now we take a look at the credentials of James Franco and Ian Somerhalder, who have both been linked to the role.
James Franco said he's up for it

While there has not exactly been a huge amount of backing for James Franco, he has been linked to the role and he has admitted that he could be tempted to take the role on, under the right circumstances. James previously stated, "It sounds interesting, I heard Gus [Van Sant] might direct it. If he directed it, I'd do it." Unfortunately for James Franco, not many fans can see him as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

There have been a lot of polls done since it was announce that a Fifty Shades of Grey movie was being made and, time and again, Ian Somerhalder is up near the top of these polls. Ian certainly has the look required for Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey film and he definitely has the backing of a lot of fans, with one fan saying "OMG Ian is perfect for CTG, cast him NOW!!"
While James Franco has admitted that he would be interested in playing Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, the fact of the matter is, it simply isn't going to happen. As for Ian Somerhalder, her has the look and the fans backing so certainly seems to be a top choice for the role.
