While fans of Matt Bomer's think that he is perfect for the role of Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, others have blasted the choice due to his sexuality.
Critics have voiced opinions that it would be difficult for fans of the book to watch the erotic movie while knowing that the lead character - who is supposed to be a heterosexual BDSM enthusiast - is actually gay in real life. Makers of the movie are keen to choose a lead who will be admired by the female population, and some critics say this wouldn't happen with Matt Bomer.

Ian Somerhalder is a favourite for the role
Screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis sparked this argument back in August when he publicly discussed his reasons for why Matt should not be cast as CEO and billionaire, Christian. Bret argued: "Okay I'll say it. Matt Bomer isn't right for Christian Grey because he is openly gay. He's great for other roles but this is too big a game."
Matt previously starred in Magic Mike and was great in that role, and women adored him. But did they lust after him?
Matt meanwhile has remained quiet about the rumours linking him to the role, and has refused to comment on Brett's outburst.
Other actors being considered for the coveted role include Ian Somerhalder. The Vampire Diaries heart-throb has confirmed that "nothing official" has been decided with regards to casting decisions, but has openly said that he would "love to oblige." And how has he been preparing for the possible role? "There's a website you can go to where you can just outfit your basement as a dungeon. So, you know, I thought I'd get prepared, just in case."

Steve Amell, Ryan Gosling, Henry Cavill, and Robert Pattinson have also been linked to the part. We know we would love to see Matt take on the role given that there is no attachment to him as an actor unlike the before mentioned.

Henry Cavill is also being considered
