When it comes to the casting for big movies, it is usually expected that the big name stars will be given the lead roles, while some slightly smaller but still respectable acting talents will then take on the supporting roles. So, when it was announced that Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan had been cast in the lead roles for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, there were shocked fans all over the world.
However, the surprises did not stop there, as it was also confirmed that British singer Rita Ora, who had no acting experience at the time, had been cast in the role of Mia Grey for the movie. Many fans were hoping that, once filming for Fifty Shades of Grey was over, Rita would return to focus on her music but it looks like she still has more acting to do in the near future.
It has been confirmed that Rita Ora will reprise her role as Mia Grey for the sequels Fifty Shades Darker, which is expected to open in 2016, and Fifty Shades Freed, which is likely to open in 2017. Fortunately though, Rita has moved to ensure her fans that her music is her main priority, "Music is obviously my main focus in life, but the movie was planned for when I had time to focus on it," Ora explained.
Fifty Shades of Grey stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson and is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson with a release date set for February 13, 2015 in both the US and the UK. Check out the Fifty Shades of Grey trailer below.
