The promotion for ‘The Host’ is kicking into high gear, with a new trailer, featurette, and TV Spot all releasing in the same week. ‘The Host’ is an epic tale of love and sacrifice set in a world that has undergone an alien invasion. While the story description leans towards concentrating on the sci-fi aspect, the latest TV Spot that was released today really showcases the romantic and emotional undertones of the film.
The Spot is titled ‘Making Sacrifices’ and spends most of the first half introducing the world, and then the second half showing Saoirse Ronan’s character resisting the alien inside her. It also builds on the theme of making sacrifices, something that was very present in the book and fans will be happy to know has been translated to the movie.
Advance screenings for the Host have already begun to sell out across the country, with new screenings being added every day [screenings can be checked at numerous Host fan sites]. The buzz has started to pick up, and it should be interesting to see if ‘The Host’ manages to build the same kind of hype that caused Twilight to open to such big box office numbers way back in 2008.
‘The Host’ releases on March 29th, and along with Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons, stars Jake Abel, Diane Kruger, William Hurt, Frances Fisher, and Boyd Hollbrook.
