Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has revealed how he has been on the verge of quitting the band, on more than one occasion. Flea admitted that he was unsure that he would be able to carry on, following the departure of guitarist John Frusciante
Flea explained, "Things get to be a bummer and I start going, 'Mmm, this is kind of a drag.' And I just couldn't imagine doing it without John. When he did up and leave, though, some time went by and I just started feeling this deep love for the band and wanted to continue it. Plus, I missed Anthony. So we got Josh."
Red Hot Chili Peppers new line up consists of Anthony Kiedis on lead vocals, Flea on bass guitar, Chad Smith on drums and new member Josh Klinghoffer in place of John Frusciante. They are set to release their tenth studio album ‘I’m With You’ on August 29 in the UK and then in the US on August 30.
