In a controversial ending to a fight that Floyd Mayweather won, he threatens to knock out the HBO presenter, Larry Merchant, under intense questioning from the 80 year old.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. knocked out Victor Ortiz in the fourth round to claim the WBC welterweight title, in a victory which many fans are saying was unfair and unsportsmanlike.
With the fourth round closing to a finish, Victor Ortiz was landing punches while he had Flloyd Mayweather upagainst the ropes, but then hit him with an elbow, as the referee Joe Cortez called a stop to the fight to take a point away from Victor Ortiz he went to hug Floyd Mayweather to apologize, but Floyd Mayweather took full advantage and hit him with two shots as referee Joe Cortez appeared to be giving some instructions to Victor Ortiz which seemed like unfair sportsmanship to everyone looking on.
The most bizarre moment came in the after match interviews as the elderly presenter, Larry Merchant said to Mayweather "I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass." when Flloyd Mayweather questioned his questions and presenting skills as he concentrated on the unfair nature of his victory. Mayweather screamed at Merchant "HBO needs to fire you, you don't know s**t about boxing."
Larry Merchant said after he believed that Floyd Mayweather cut the interview short because he didn't want to answer the next series of questions about fighting Pacquiao so used Larry Merchant as a way to halt that line of questioning, Merchant said "What happened? I think Floyd Mayweather knew that the next question was going to be about, Why don't you fight Pacquiao? That's still the question that will linger long after this fight"
Floyd Mayweather did reveal during the interview that if there is any questions about his victory, he is willing to give Victor Ortiz a rematch to clear up any doubt.
