Foo Fighters discuss Sound City

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has been discussing the bands forthcoming documentary Sound City, which celebrates the iconic Los Angeles Sound City Studios and many of the great artists that have recorded there. Dave claims that Foo Fighters could in fact release a Sound City album to be released which would accompany the upcoming documentary.

Grohl explained, "We released a teaser trailer... there may be an album that accompanies [it]. I recorded a lot of songs with a lot of people in the past couple months. There used to be a recording studio called Sound City that was in the San Fernando Valley. Nirvana recorded there in 1991. It was this really beautiful dump in the middle of a warehouse district. A lot of great records were made there."

Foo Fighters recently admitted that they were looking to record their next album in space. Dave Grohl added, "We have an idea. It's kind of a really big idea. We're going to record it in space. To tape. An analogue moonshot." Foo Fighters were recently one of the big winners at the 2012 Grammy Awards, walking away with five Grammy’s.
