Footloose remake prepares for box office battle

This weekend sees the return of two hit 1980s movie remakes and they will be going head to head for the number one box office spot. The first is Footloose, which outside studio estimates believe will fetch around $24million, while The Thing is predicted to be just short.

The Footloose remake seems to be following almost exactly to the original, with barely any original or modernised upgrades. The movie is set to star Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough as the loved up teenagers, while Dennis Quaid plays the uptight reverend.

As for The Thing, well it is believed that The Thing will have a similar storyline to the original but will also use more up to date technology for the special effects. The Thing stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton. We recommend that you check out both and let us know what you think.
