When it was first announced that Gal Gadot had been cast in the role of Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman, there were many disappointed fans around the world. However, when we finally saw the actress making her debut as the character in the heavily slated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, Wonder Woman was actually one of the better things about the film.
With that said, there have still been many fans voicing their concerns at the Wonder Woman standalone film, with some worried that it will be too dark, just like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while others are worried that it will go too far in the opposite direction. Now though, Gal Gadot has spoken out to try to ease the concerns of these fans.
Gal explained, "In Batman v Superman, you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from. In Wonder Woman, this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It's very interesting. It has moments of humor, but it's pretty dark. We all saw before the beautiful coming of age of Batman, Spider-Man, Superman. We don't know anything about Wonder Woman."
It was recently announced that we will actually get to see the Wonder Woman movie a lot sooner than expected, as it has now been given a new release date of June 2, 2017. Patty Jenkins has directed the Wonder Woman film, based on the screenplay developed by Jason Fuchs. We look forward to seeing it.
