It seems that poor Gal Gadot cannot catch a break and that comic book fans are just not going to accept her in the role of Wonder Woman, no matter how well she does actually pull it off. From the moment it was announced that Gal was playing Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there haters have been out in force and it looks like they are not going away any time soon.
The latest person to have a dig at the Gal Gadot version of Wonder Woman, is comic book writer Grant Morrison, who is currently working on the graphic novel Wonder Woman: Earth One. Grant says that he can understand why Zack Snyder has gone for a more warrior type of character, although he admits that he will certainly not do that with his new graphic novel.
Morrison explained, "I can understand why they're doing it, I get all that, but that's not what [Wonder Woman creator] William Marston wanted, that's not what he wanted at all! You see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it's all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera. Marston's Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist. So I went back to those roots and just built it up again."
It will be interesting to see just how well Gal Gadot does pull off the role of Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice but we still have quite a long wait yet. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will hit the big screen on March 25, 2016 in both the US and the UK.
