Game of Thrones actor Sean Bean has been arrested following allegations that he was harassing his former wife.

The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones star was arrested over claims he sent abusive texts and calls to actress Georgina Sutcliffe. He attended a prearranged interview at Holborn Police Station where he had a DNA swab and fingerprints taken.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “A 53-year-old man attended a central London police station by appointment, where he was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries. He was bailed pending further inquiries. He was arrested on suspicion of harassment.’

Georgina, 34, who is appearing in Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap in the West End, is Sean's fourth wife. The pair first met in 2003 when she was managing the bar at a West End Theatre while he was playing Hamlet at the Albery Theatre. The couple wed at Marylebone Register Office, but it was a stormy marriage during which they were reported to have split up before getting back together. The couple, who lived together in a house in Belsize Park, North London, finally divorced in December 2010 after two years.
Last year the Sean admitted that while being a romantic he had realised marriage was not for him. He said: “Of course I believe in love despite four divorces. There is nobody who doesn’t believe in love. But marriage – that fits some people but obviously not me. I love doing just nothing in my free time. I love to be with my kid in Yorkshire. I love it there. Working in a garden calms me down.”
