British actress Emilia Clarke has become a global superstar, thanks to her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones. In the series, Emilia has to work with pretend dragons and she has admitted that, even though they are not real, she has found herself getting attached to them.
Clarke told Deadline "Whenever I’m separate from the dragons, they have life-scale models, which look brilliant and I get very attached to. But whenever I’m actually handling the dragons themselves, it’s green tennis balls, which is challenging."
Emilia also admitted that she has to try to figure out how a dragon would look and feel, while pretending to handle it, "I find myself having the most ridiculous conversations with myself. What do dragon scales feel like? And how heavy is a dragon?" she added.
You can catch Emilia Clarke in her familiar role as Daenerys Targaryen, when Game of Thrones season four premieres on HBO next year. While there is no official première date for the new season, it is expected that it will be around May 2014. We will let you know the official première date as soon as we find out.
