Season one of Game of Thrones ended not too long ago and almost half the characters were killed off, so it only made sense that new cast members would be brought in for season two. A lot of rumours have been flying round about what new characters will be appearing and who will be playing them.
The biggest rumour to my knowledge is that Christopher Ecclestone would be starring as Robert an Renly’s brother, Stannis Baratheon. The battle hardened and merciless Stannis Baratheon is without doubt the biggest addition to the series but Ecclestone has neither confirmed or denied that he will portray the character.
Another major addition to the show is the appearance of Brienne of Tarth, who will be portrayed by Statuesque model Gwendoline Christie. This is a role that has been confirmed and it will be interesting to see how Gwendoline appears on screen as Brienne appears in the books as quite a manly figure. Game of Thrones season two is set to hit TV screens next April.
