British actress Natalie Dormer has played a lot of very interesting characters over the course of her career, appearing in a number of different television shows and movies along the way. Natalie is probably most recognisable at the moment in the role of Margaery in the hit HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones.
In Game of Thrones we see Margaery coming head to head with Cersei (Lena Headey) on a number of occasions but, while Margaery can manipulate most people, she does not have so much luck with Cersei. Natalie has now spoken about her the relationship between Margaery and Cersei and why she cannot get around Cersei so easily.
Dormer told Vulture, "That's a very good point. I don't know! Because Cersei is such a veteran, you almost wonder if when she looks in the mirror, she sees a little bit of her younger self in Margaery. You get the feeling that there was once a purer heart in Cersei that got twisted. So then you wonder, is this how Margaery could turn out? If things go wrong?"
Natalie then went on to give her views on how the relationship between Margaery and Cersei could be something completely different all together. If things had been different, Dormer believes that Cersei and Margaery might even be friends with one another.
She added, "In another world, if Margaery and Cersei were playing for the same team, they would be a formidable force as teammates. They would probably like each other, because they're so well-matched. Lena [Headey] and I love playing those scenes, because there is so much unsaid that is being said. It's all daggers behind smiles."
Game of Thrones is now in its fourth season and continues to air on HBO in the US on Sunday evenings, before then airing on Sky Atlantic in the UK on Monday nights.
