There is no possible debate, that American superstar Serena Williams is one of the greatest ever tennis players to ever pick up a racket and step onto the court, dominating the sport for the past couple of decades now. Serena is still the world number one and still winning plenty of tournaments but age is catching up with her and she cannot stay at the top forever.
Serena Williams is now 34 years old, which means that she does not have too much longer at the top, so it is no surprise that there have been plenty of people talking about who will take over from her at the very top of the game. One name that has been on a lot of people's lips, is the hugely talented Spanish-Venezuelan star Garbine Muguruza, who could dominate the sport for many years to come.
At the age of just 22 years old, Garbine Muguruza has been proving that she can already mix it with the best players in the world and she is only going to get better with age. Garbine is already ranked at number three in the world and has shown she can be a force in the Grand Slam events, making it to the Wimbledon final in 2015, losing out to the great Serena Williams 4-6 4-6.
It is definitely going to be interesting to see how tennis changes, when Serena Williams finally falls from the top of the sport, and while Garbine Muguruza has all the potential to become the dominant force in tennis, there are plenty of other players capable of making it to the very top.
