There are lots of Hollywood actors and actresses who have turned their hand to directing in recent years and, while some soon realise that directing movies is not really for them, there are others who simply cannot get enough of it. Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie made her directorial debut with the movie In the Land of Blood and Honey, and she will follow that up with the upcoming movie Unbroken.
While Angelina Jolie is in the directors chair for Unbroken, actor Garrett Hedlund stars in the movie and he has been talking about the film. Garrett was chatting in the latest edition of Man of the World, when he was asked if he found working under Angelina to be intimidating, and Hedlund was more than happy to talk about it.
He explained, "No, but I had met her a few time before, through Brad [Pitt]. She was great in terms of letting us develop whatever ideas we had about our characters. We’d pick out our own wardrobe, and she’d tell us, ‘You go into hair and makeup and come out the way you want.’ There was no, ‘Everyone else is clean-shaven, so we’re gonna put a mustache on you.’ It was a beautiful permission to have, to develop the character of John. I can’t wait to see the movie because I can’t wait to meet him."
As well as being directed by Angelina Jolie and starring Garrett Hedlund, the Unbroken cast also includes Domhnall Gleeson, Jai Courtney, Jack O'Connell, and Alex Russell, among others. Unbroken is set to open in the US on December 25, before opening a day later in the UK.
