Following the huge success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, we wait with great anticipation to see what the sequel has to offer. It does not bode well for the movie though, the fact that the original writer Scott Z. Burns had his script rejected, following the exit of director Rupert Wyatt.

Gary Oldman has joined the cast
However, things are continuing to move forward, with the screenplay for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes being penned by Mark Bomback, while it will now be directed by Matt Reeves. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has started to build up its cast and it is continuing to add to that.
It has already been confirmed that Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee will be playing the lead roles in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Now, it has been announced that The Dark Knight Rises actor Gary Oldman has signed on to appear in the movie sequel.
