It has been a couple of years now since it was announced that Gears of War the game was set to become Gears of War the movie. Back then it was claimed that Die Hard 4.0 and Underworld director Len Wiseman was set to helm the project but things have since taken a turn for the worse.
The Gears of War movie is has been one of those films which has suffered development hell. Firstly the budget got cut back, then it was decided that the R rating would be getting re-evaluated and then the narrative was set to be readdressed. Now it seems that Len Wiseman has left the project.
That doesn’t leave the Gears of War film in a very good position. It has been suggested that the film is set to take on the vibe of District 9 but that was a while ago. Gears of War the movie is still set to be made but don’t expect to see it anytime soon. My prediction would be around 2015 at the earliest.
