Since the release of the last James Bond movie Spectre, back in 2015, there has been a lot of talk about the future of the 007 actor Daniel Craig, with many people believing that he will walk away from the franchise and will hand over to a new James Bond actor. There have been plenty of big name Hollywood stars being linked to the role, with talk of the first black James Bond, as well as the first female James Bond.
British actress Gemma Arterton has already had some experience of the James Bond movie franchise, having appeared as a Bond Girl alongside Daniel Craig in the 2008 movie Quantum of Solace. Gemma has now been talking about who she believes should become the new 007 star, admitting that she would love for them to finally give us the first female James Bond.
Arterton was speaking with Sky News, when she told them, "Barbara Broccoli is one of the biggest feminists in the world that I know, so I'm sure she would love to do that. Yeah, I mean why not, great. I'm approached with projects that are much more female-centric because I've spoken out about it so much, which is a good thing."
She added, "But I don't necessarily look for these kind of feminist messages or anything like that, but it's always quite nice when there's a message in there. The future projects I have are all kind-of about women that are great, or not great, they're idiotic, or silly, they're just about women so that's a good thing."
With that said, it is highly unlikely that we will ever see Gemma Arterton taking on the role of James Bond, although we do think she would do a fantastic job.
