George Clooney is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and is coming off of the back of the success of Argo, on which he was one of the producers. Now, George is going back behind the camera as the director of his fifth feature film, with the movie The Monuments Men.

It has now been confirmed that production on The Monuments Men has begun and it looks like it is set to be a fairly long shooting schedule. The Monuments Men will be filming in the UK and Germany from now, all the way through to the end of June.
The Monuments Men is based on true events and centres around an unlikely group of World War II heroes, including museum directors, curators, and art historians. This team of experts are given the task of recovering renowned pieces of art, which has been stolen by the Nazi's and is set to be destroyed by Hitler.

Daniel Craig is also in the film
As well as directing the movie, George Clooney will also star in The Monuments Men with Daniel Craig, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett and Bill Murray. The screenplay for The Monuments Men was penned by George Clooney along with Grant Heslov and is set to be released on December 18 in the US and on January 1, 2014 in the UK.
