There has been a lot of talk about Gina Carano returning to UFC just lately but, a few months back, all the talk was about her possibly taking on the role of Wonder Woman for the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie. Gina became one of the favourites for the role and was backed by many fans but missed out on the role to her Fast and Furious 6 co-star Gal Gadot.
As it turns out, Gina Carano was never even approached about playing Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman and she says that she does not know if she was ever even considered for the role. Meanwhile, Gina has been talking about Gal Gadot landing the role of Wonder Woman, admitting that she believes the actress will do a fantastic job.
Carano explained, "I worked with her on Fast & Furious 6, and she’s amazing. Such a great person with such a solidness in her character, so I’m very excited for her to do that. I think people have an idea what they consider Wonder Woman. I definitely know (Gadot) has been training and there’s so much more that goes into being a strong female character."
Gina then went on to admit that she has always been a big fan of people proving other people wrong and not taking no for an answer, "I think people have their own idea, but I always like the underdog, I’m always rooting for the underdog. If the world says you can’t do something, I couldn’t care less because that’s not how anybody should live their lives," added Carano.
As well as starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, we will also see Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Batman vs. Superman will open on May 6, 2016.
