There are a lot of people these days who decide to move around from one area of the entertainment industry to the next. We have models who decide to take up acting, we have singers who decide to become models and we have all and everything in between. The latest trend seems to be female MMA stars deciding to make the move into the acting industry.
Back in 2009, MMA star Gina Carano decided to retire from the fighting game and focus all her efforts on her acting career. Now, almost five years later, Gina is beginning to reap the rewards of her decisions, as she sees her Hollywood career going from strength to strength. Carano has no less than four movies coming up, as well as a role in a hit television series.
Gina Carano will appear with Cam Gigandet and Danny Trejo in the movie In the Blood, which is due to open later in the year. Then there is the movie The Silent Flute, which is currently in the script stages, while Gina is also linked to a role in an untitled Adi Shanker movie, which is set to star Katee Sackhoff and Linda Hamilton.
As for the other film, Gina Carano is signed on to be a producer on the movie Avengelyne, while she recently had a small role in an episode of the hit television series Almost Human. With all this going on and, no doubt, plenty more offers heading her way, it is fair to say that Gina Carano is seeing her Hollywood career going from strength to strength.
