The Golden Globes have always been considered a warm up for the Academy Awards, which take place later in the year, although many are beginning to place the Golden Globes above the Academy Awards as the most eagerly anticipated awards event of the year. With that said, the Golden Globes will take place later this week and will certainly act as a sort of guide for the Oscars.
While everybody, everywhere seems to be giving you their own predictions lists, we have decided to take a slightly different approach to the Golden Globes 2014, by focussing on one star, who is dominating Hollywood these days. Jennifer Lawrence first rose to stardom with her sensational performance in Winter's Bone, which led to her first Oscar nomination.
While Jennifer Lawrence missed out on the Oscar on that occasion, she did manage to bag the Best Actress Oscar last year, for her role in the movie Silver Linings Playbook. However, we are talking about the Golden Globes here and, as we mentioned before, these tend to act as a guide for the Oscars. Just like the Oscars, Jennifer was nominated for Winter's Bone and won for Silver Linings Playbook and she has now been nominated as Best Supporting Actress for American Hustle.
We expect to see Jennifer Lawrence once again bag a Golden Globe for her performance in American Hustle, which will no doubt lead to her being nominated for the Oscar in the same category and we would not be surprised to see her win that too. Jennifer Lawrence is arguably the biggest star in Hollywood right now and we can see her dominating for years to come.
