Grace Park is loved by television fans and some entertainment observers for how she is able to provide a realistic, non-stereotypical portrayal of her police officer character Kono Kalakaua. A frustrating aspect for some television viewers is the perception that all women who work in male-dominated fields are incredible athletes of the same ability and if they happen to be of Asian descent are martial arts specialists (Washington Times - April 28). 
Her acting portrayal of her character 'Kono' on "Hawaii Five-O" is earning her rave reviews not just from some entertainment insiders but also female fans who appreciate her balancing her character's physical prowess with the reality that not all women have the same physical abilities of men and that adding some femininity to the character is not a bad thing.
Grace Park for the past five years has basically only played the role of Officer Kono Kalakaua but in a recent interview she made some comments that leave one thinking she might be ready to take on some new roles. During her interview she revealed that she is more of a big-city person and her disclosure that not everybody's into sun and surf has some entertainment observers, casting agents and producers looking at her as potentially being amenable to making a move away from Hawaii Five-O for a much different role in a big screen project.
Five years is a long-time to play one role and with her impressive performance on Hawaii Five-O in 2015 combined with her big city preference comments it would not be a surprise if one of the actresses who is most pursued for future film roles during the summer television film break is the beautiful, talented Grace Park.
