Hollywood writer and director Guillermo del Toro is one of those Hollywood movie makers who loves to have a number of projects on the go at the same time, making sure that he is always busy with one movie or another. While many people have been talking about his upcoming projects Crimson Peak, Justice League Dark and Pacific Rim 2, to name just a few, Guillermo has another project due out before all of those.
Guillermo del Toro is preparing to release his new television series The Strain later in the year and he has just offered up the new The Strain trailer for fans to cast their eyes over. While this is just a teaser trailer we already get the feeling that The Strain is going to be a very creepy series indeed.
The Strain is based on the books from Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan and officially described as "A thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather, the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself."
The cast for The Strain is a very solid one which includes some impressive Hollywood names including the likes of Corey Stoll, Maestro, Sean Astin, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland, and Miguel Gomez. The Strain will premiere on July 19 on FX.
For now though, check out the new The Strain trailer below and be warned, it is a creepy one.
