There was once a time in Hollywood when there was a huge gulf between a television series and a movie, with those being involved in movies considered the bigger and better stars in the industry. However, over the course of the past few years things have changed in a very big way, with some very impressive television shows hitting our screens.
We have seen a number of big screen movies stars beginning to make the move into television, with a lot of these stars admitting that there is now a ot of very well written shows being aired. The latest movie star to join a television series is Halle Berry, who will star in the new CBS thriller Extant, with Halle now revealing what drew her to accepting the role.
Berry was chatting to the guys over at People when she explained, "It is like the new golden age of television. As a woman, when I read this, it was such a strong character. I always gravitate toward strong, complicated woman characters."
Halle also admitted that having Steven Spielberg on board also helped her decision, "When I heard Steven Spielberg is a part of it, I thought, wow, that is another big reason to be a part of it."
As well as starring Halle Berry, the Extant cast also includes Goran Visnjic, Pierce Gagnon, Camryn Manheim and Sergio Harford, with Mickey Fisher the man responsible for creating the series and serving as Executive Producer on the show. Extant will premiere on CBS on July 9 at 9pm ET.
