Hard-Fi’s Richard Archer talks new album and X Factor
Hard Fi are preparing to release the first album for four years when they release their third studio album ‘Killer Sounds’ later this month. Frontman Richard Archer has taken the time to discuss the new album and how its success will be affected by former X Factor contestants.
Richard explained, "We're sitting here now and don't expect for one minute to waltz back out to a number one album or sold-out arena shows. It's not that easy. We know that we have to let people know what we have to offer and how good we are. But it's quite exciting cos it's almost like trying to break the band again - we've got some good tunes."
He then added, "We did have this golden moment in 2005-6 with this bumper harvest of bands. That was pretty unreal and we're kinda back to reality now, which is that pop acts have millions of pounds spent on them. The X Factor is on TV every week. If you had to pay for that TV advertising, you'd have to be a billionaire. It's all kinda there, bubbling under and waiting to break through."
‘Killer Sounds’ has been produced for Hard Fi by well known record producer Stuart Price. The album is expected to be released on August 22, while the lead single from the album, which is titled ‘Fire in the House' is set to be released this week. Check out the video below.
