Star Wars fans around the world were split when it was announced that Disney were making a new Star Wars trilogy. Many fans feel that the Star Wars franchise has already been ruined by the prequel trilogy and feel that it should have stopped at the originals. However, others are delighted at the prospect of seeing their favourite characters from the originals return.
One such character is Han Solo, who was played by Harrison Ford in the original Star Wars trilogy, and there has been plenty of talk about his return. It was previously claimed that Harrison had signed on to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII and now he has opened up about the possibility.
Ford was chatting to WGN, when he briefly touched on his involvement, saying, “I think it’s almost true. I’m looking forward to it. It’s not in the bag yet, but I think it’s happening.”
As well as Harrison Ford returning as Han Solo, it is also expected that Mark Hamill will return as Luke Skywalker, while Carrie Fisher will reprise her role as Princess Leia. J.J. Abrams is directing Star Wars: Episode VII, based on the screenplay which is being worked on by Michael Arndt, and is expected to be released in 2015.
