Hayden Panettiere is no stranger to trying to crack the music scene, after several attempts with Disney in her younger days. However, Hayden admitted that she would only ever attempt to do Country music in the future and it seems that she is doing just that, with her new ABC show Nashville.

Panettiere explained, “I quit after about four or five years of recording, I said, ‘This is not me.’ But I also said that if I was ever going to do music again, I would do Country music.” Hayden plays Juliette in Nashville, an up and coming Country singer who is looking to take the crown from the current queen of Country.
Juliette has been compared to real life Country star Taylor Swift but Hayden disagrees with the comparison, “I’ve heard the Taylor Swift thing quite a bit. But aside from being around the same age and blond, not even height, I (think they’re) very different. Once you get to know Juliette a little bit better, you’ll see that. I think Taylor would disagree wholeheartedly as well. She’s much nicer than my character.”

Playing Juliette in Nashville is a change from the norm in more ways than one for Hayden Panettiere, who, as well as tackling Country music, also moves away from her usually goody two shoes character to play a girl with a bad side. Nashville is set to premiere on Wednesday night at 10.
