When it comes to beauty products using celebrities to front their new campaigns, it is most often the case that they will go for someone who is young, fresh-faced and beautiful, to give the impression that this is what their products can make you look like. It is very rare to see an older star fronting a beauty campaign, which does not sit well with some of these celebrities.
British superstar Helen Mirren is still regarded by many as being a beautiful woman but, at the age of 70, she gets overlooked for beauty campaigns, which the actress does not feel is right. Helen says that older women are just as interested in using beauty products as younger women, so we should see more older women involved in these beauty campaigns.
Mirren was a guest on the UK morning television show Lorraine, when she explained to the host, "To do a beauty campaign at my age is a bit sort of out-of-order really. I think you don't lose interest as a woman - or maybe as a man - we don't lose interest in these things as we get older, all we do is we get more knowledge about them."
She added, "We get more knowledge about what's good for you, what's bad for you, what works for you, what doesn't work for you and so I don't see why as an older person you should be excluded from the fun of all of that."
Helen Mirren has enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood and she is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon, with plenty more projects coming our way over the course of the coming years. Next up for Helen Mirren is the new movie Trumbo, which co-stars Elle Fanning, Bryan Cranston, Diane Lane, and Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje, which is directed by Gavin Hood and is scheduled for limited release in the US on November 6, before then hitting the big screen in the UK on January 22, 2016.
