There is no doubting that most people across the globe will know of Cobie Smulders as Robin from How I Met Your Mother. However, still not a lot of people realise that Cobie is set to star in the Marvel Studios movie The Avengers as Agent Maria Hill.
Smulders has revealed that one of the most the most fun parts of playing the role of Agent Hill, is that she gets to try on a variety of different outfits. Cobie explained, “I’ve tried on portions of the catsuit [and] I’ve seen conceptual drawings of what they want it to be. It’s fascinating to me.”
She also praised the work that goes into the costumes, adding “I feel like wardrobe becomes very creative on these types of movies because they literally spend weeks designing just the pants or the emblem. It’s such an all-consuming process, so I’m excited to see how it all turns out.”
Agent Maria Hill is known for having short hair in the comic books, so it will be interesting to see whether, Cobie Smulders follows in the footsteps of Vanessa Hudgens in Gimme Shelter and chops her hair off, or if she will just wear a convincing wig. The Avengers will be released in both the US and the UK on May 4, 2012.
