When the 'Hunger Games' released in March, it smashed box office expectations, broke records, and went to on to become on the most successful movies of all time (#13 on all time domestic box office, ahead of all the Twilight and Harry Potter movies). The 'Hunger Games' DVD was released last night and many were worried that it wouldn't be as successful as its silver screen counterpart, but it looks like Hunger Games fans have once again proven them wrong. 
Deadline is reporting that huge crowds have come out across the country, lining up at midnight releases and crowding stores to get a DVD or blu-ray copy of the Hunger Games. Cast members have also made appearances in select Wal-mart locations across the country in support of the DVD release, which probably played a part in the large crowds in some of these locations. Deadline also reports there were special launches, one such being at the Toys'R'Us in New York City's Timesquare.
