There has not really been a great deal of talk surrounding the movie Prisoners, which is released later this year, but production on the movie has now begun. Prisoners stars Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead roles and is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (Inicidies).
Prisoners is a dramatic thriller, which centres around a working class father in Boston (Hugh Jackman) who heads off on a mission to uncover the man who he feels was responsible for his daughter and her friend being kidnapped. While taking matters into his own hands, he soon comes up against the detective who has been assigned to the case (Jake Gyllenhaal).
It has now been confirmed by Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. that production on Prisoners has now begun in Georgia. While Denis Villeneuve is directing the movie, based on the screenplay Aaron Guzikowski (Contraband), cinematographer Roger Deakins (Skyfall, No Country For Old Men) will be handling the camera work.
As well as starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead roles, Prisoners also boasts an impressive supporting cast, which includes Terrence Howard, Maria Bello, Paul Dano and Viola Davis. Prisoners is set to be released on September 30.
